Art & Culture
Many different cultures have shaped our region to become what it is today, including the First Nations people and the Acadians. We offer many opportunities and experiences for you to learn and get involved in our rich heritage.
The Mi’kmaq have been on the Island for about 10,000 years, and the Lennox Island Cultural Center offers insights into this rich and important part of PEI’s history. In the Evangeline region, you’ll learn about the Acadian heritage at Miscouche’s Acadian Museum – from the first settling to the Great Deportation. There’s also evidence of English, Scottish and Irish settlers and this can be seen from community names to the lively ceilidh celebrations throughout the year!
Immerse yourself in our culture, history, and heritage by visiting our local museums, taking on special workshops and visiting our historic communities. Get a taste of what makes us a one-of-a-kind region
