Enjoy the park’s panoramic views of the Gulf of St. Lawrence and its slender sandy beach. This park is named for Jacques Cartier, who came ashore to this area in 1534 as the Island’s first European visitor. He remarked that this was “the fairest land ‘tis possible to see!” The park hosts a celebration of his great discovery every July on Rediscovery Day.

Park amenities include a supervised beach, restrooms with showers, playground and provincial campground with serviced and unserviced sites. Pets permitted on leash.

Open June to September.
